Right Arunable The Secretary of State for the Colonies to grant me the requisite Letters of Naturalization.

I bey here to repeat that I took the baths of Allegiana to Her Most Gracious Majesty The Queen, on the 31st December 1846, on my assumption of the duties of Clerk of Legislative Councils and Executive and Legislative Councils.

I also observe that I have had the honour to serve the Crown since the 14th January, 1837, - being a period of eighteen and a half years up to the 30th June, 1855.

But independently of my long service, I trust the high testimonials on record favourable to my advancement will prevail with His Excellency to recommend the granting of my present application.

I have, &c.

(Signed) L. d'Almada e Castro, Clerk of Councils, and Chief Clerk and Keeper of Records in the Colonial Secretary's office.
